Cold Brewed Iced Tea


Perfect for a hot summer day

Many people believe that cold-infused tea have a stronger flavor than hot brewed tea, depending of the tea used. Try to experiment with the different types of tea you have available.

Ingredients for Iced Tea

Water pitcher/bottle that can be closed;

Black/Green/Oolong or Herbal tea bag (1 for 4 cups);

Lemon slice for garnishing.

Preparation

To make cold-infused tea, simply put a few tea bags and cold water in a pitcher.

Use 1 tea bag per 4 cups of water. Cover the pitcher and put it in the refrigerator for at least 8-12 hours.

Iced tea is traditionally served with a lemon slice as garnish, which is often placed on the rim of the glass.

Infuse tea with fruit or herbs

Try to experiment to find your favorite flavors.

Infuse an extra flavor to your tea by using fruit or herbs like plums, peaches, rosemary, mint leaves, hibiscus, chamomile or lemon basil. These flavors help to refresh you and lesson your thirst on a hot summer day. Don’t forget to crush fresh leaves. Crushing fresh leaves helps to release the fragrant oil more easily,

Sun Tea vs Cold Brew Iced Tea

The brewing method is very similar as cold brewed iced tea.

The Sun Tea is first put on a sunny window sill for a few hours and afterwards is cooled in the refrigerator.
